Error connecting to server

Hello everyone!

I'm trying to connect to an ESXi server with vCLI.

The command I run is:

vicfg-nics.pl -server <ESXserver> -list

I get prompted for username an password.

Then the following error is echoed:

Error connecting to server at 'https://<ESXserver>/sdk/webService': Perhaps host is not a vCenter or ESX server

This happens regardless of the command.

I have four ESXi 4.1u1 servers. I patched this server this morning from 348481 to 381591. All vCLI commands works fine on the other tree. They are all 348481.

vCLI version: 4.1.0 - 254719

I have downloaded and reisntalled the newest vCLI I could find and still get the same error.

I cannot browse to https://<ESXserver> either. This works fine on the other servers.

Any ideas?

Can you ping this host? Maybe you made a mistake when you configure network settings on the esx host...
