Automate datastore creation -- must I use partedUtil?
Has anyone been successful with automating the creation of new datastores? I have a whole bunch of new SAN disks that I need to add to the cluster. I know what I have to do, and it looks like I may be able to do everything with esxcli and vmkfstools. The thing I really want to avoid is turning on ssh on a host and the running partedUtil on the disks. I am surprised that no one has found a way around this using the Perl SDK. Thanks.
Well, I am turning on ssh on the host and running partedUtil. It is all scripted with the exception of needing to enter the root password. It's a hack though, and I'd much rather do this through the API.
