virtualize disk with partition

Hello,

I am on Vmware 5.5.

I have a virtual machine (windows 2008R2) with a virtual disk that has 2 partitions C: and D :

My C: partition has become too small so I want the partitions to be on 2 separate virtual disks to increase the size.

Precision on my partition 😧 there are links with the C: (database with the C: they are not just data

I did not find a solution even with Vmware converter.

Thank you for your help.

Hello,

Are the drives C and D located on a single virtual disk? If yes, try to clean up some space https://www.lifewire.com/free-disk-partition-software-tools-2624950

Also, consider adding one more virtual disk to the VM to move drive D. Then drive C could be extended up to the old drive D's capacity.

It is possible to separate disks with Converter, just go to Data to copy/Advanced/Destination layout.
Also use https://communities.vmware.com/ VMTN > VMware vCenter™ > Converter Standalone > Discussions for Converter related questions.
