Well, the problem is that the bde-internal-ip-address is the only address that shows up for the serengeti-plugin.zip box loaded when I browse to the bde-external-ip-address web page.  And, it cannot be changed.  I followed the instructions best I could, where the 1st network is the internal one, and the 2nd network is the external one.  Just won't work...

Other ideas?

Hi Stephen, Could you please attach a screenshot of the web browser for "it cannot be changed" ?  Did you also use 2 NIC for the BDE Server when successfully deploying BDE 2.2 on vSphere 5.5 ? If yes, it means this 2 NIC issue only applies to BDE 2.3.

Here you go - and as I said, we were never able to actually USE the web interface on the plugin (still can't), and we did have 2 NICs last time/previous version.  However, I CAN login to the "management-server" and create hadoop clusters in the "bde-internal-ip" space...

Could you enter the vCenter Server IP, username, password and change "https://10.7.0.250/vcplugin/serengeti-plugin.zip" to "https://129.*.*.*/vcplugin/serengeti-plugin.zip", then click submit ? Let's see if this can install the vCenter BDE plugin.

Unfortunately, as I said, that box cannot be edited - it is "locked", and there is no way to change the data in that box... if I could change that box, I would have, and I am certain that would fix the problem!

I hardcoded the "bde-external-ip-address" into the /opt/serengeti/...script so that that box would reflect the actual IP that we are using, but that didn't make any difference.  However, we know that the BDE is getting installed, because hen we browse to "https://vcenter.external.address/mob/?moid=ExtensionManager&doPath=extensionList%5b%22vsphere%2ebigd...", we can see that it is there (and it goes away when we uninstall it).

The path to bde system is in the "client" property on vcenter:

But, BDE does NOT show up in vCenter, even after reboot... I could really use some more help...
