vCO 5.1 installation configuration

I've installed the vCO 5.1 appliance and it appears to be up and running however I can't connect to any of the web interfaces to configure Orchestrator. We've checked all the firewalls and such and the traffic is getting through but the appliance is not responding. What can I check on the appliance to make sure that all of the right processes are running? I'm quite comfortable working at the unix command line but I'm not sure what to look for.

please and thank you

The first one to connect is https://ip_of_appliance. Pleas, note the "s" after http. Probably, you have done this but just to make sure it is not something small. Otherwise, it is probably not a problem of the appliance but how it was setup in vCenter. Did you go with the default networking setting (meaning empty) or you had some specific setup?

If by the network setup you mean that am I using DHCP the answer is now.

I've logged in to the console appliance and used the available scripts to set the networking information so the appliance has an IP addr., gateway and netmask.

We have gone over our firewall settings here and all traffic should be getting through to the appliance yet no matter what URL I try (https and http) all of them just time out.
