VCO - Starting a Workflow to Run other Workflows in Sequence

Hi all,

I am new to Orchestrator and am not partial to scripting.

I have set up a few workflows to do things like join FC storage, create a folder, create a new portgroup and would like to run all of these workflows from one central workflow.

I know there is a premade template for this, however I cannot get this to work and it only allows me to choose one workflow as opposed to running a group of them

Any insight/assistance would be excellent

Thank you

This process is commonly referred to as wrapping or boxing. You can find a tutorial on it here: Making vCO Workflow Wrappers

from the schema view just drag a workflow icon in. it will ask for the workflow name.

once done do the same thing again. except this time place the new workflow on the line directly between the black circle and the previous workflow

you will need to ensure any input params are passed in from the parent workflow.

Ill give this a try, thank you for the suggestion. Would passing the input/output params have a checkbox or does this need to be done manually?

Would a nested workflow accomplish the same thing with a prettier schema chart?

a nested workflow is pretty much what I am saying.

To pass parameters you will need to use attributes or in / out params. If a nested workflow requires input then you will need to configure those in params from the inputs tab.

attributes are configured from the general tab, it might be worth reading the video's by Brian Watrous which articulate the use of parameters vs attributes.
