Unable to Get Authentication Provider working in vRO 7

I've tried setting up either vSphere, SSO, or vRA authentication in vRO 7 and keep running into the same error.  I've looked through logs and don't seem to be able to glean anything more useful than what gets displayed in Controlcenter below:

vSphere authentication mode gives a slightly less useful message of: "Error! An error occurred while retrieving Single Sign-On from: https://vmware-vc5-prod.ops.puppetlabs.net/cm"

Any advice for troubleshooting would be most appreciated.

In certain cases I have been unable to use the content manager to connect and configure connectivity to SSO and to work around the issue, I was able to configure the SSO settings by using the legacy SSO configuration

Have the same problem.  Standard vRealize Orchestrator OVA deployment on the vCenter Server ... and this issue pops up.
