Hello
I have some bad issues while trying to use the following workflow : "Clone, Windows with single NIC". I always get the following error : "Task 'CloneVM_Task' error: A specified parameter was not correct.
spec.identity.password.value (Dynamic Script Module name : vim3WaitTaskEnd#20)"
So I guess I have a problem with a password but I don't know which password I should give for the input parameter "the passwork string. It is encrypted if the associated planText flag is false" I don't understand what password should I give here since I don't give any domain user account.
Is there someone who has already used this workflow and can give me some advice of how to use it correctly ?
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
If I recall well this is your local admin password if it was set or the new password to set if the template has a blank password set. But then I did this years ago so doublecheck.

Hey there
I tried to set the local admin password and also a new password but still the same problem the workflow stops at 93% and I have an error concerning the password sometimes it blocks at 93% and can stay there for more than 30min
I solved the problem, the password set has to be encrypted! Now I am struggling with an ather error : "Task 'CloneVM_Task' error: fault.NicSettingMismatch.summary (Dynamic Script Module name : vim3WaitTaskEnd#20)"
So now the VM is created but it has not the network customisation specified in the workflow!
any help please ?
Thanks
That usually happens if the number of NICs in the cloned VM is not the same as the number of IP settings you specify in the clone specification.
To surely identify this as the root cause, just change the number of network cards of the source VM or template you clone.
If that now IS the error, then make sure that the CloneSpec contains the corresponding number of network settings, one for each NIC.
Cheers,
Joerg
Hey
I tried your solution and then at 94% of the workflow the vSphere client crashes and I get this error : "The connection to vCenter Server "link of my server" has been lost"
Can anyone try and fill the parameters of this workflow so I can see where I made an error please ? It would help me so much!
Thanks
