Log location in vRO 8.01?

Jump to solution

Hi,

The docs say the scripting.log file is in /var/log/vco/app-server

However, that does not appear to be accurate.

Where are the scripting logs in vRO 8.01?

Hi,

AlessandroRomeo68 - this KB is for vCO 4.x (4-5 years old).

Containerization / Kubernetization brought some changes to the logging system. Most of the log files are gone (including server.log) and what was previously dumped there is now dumped on standard output. You can use the Kubernetes command-line tool kubectl (namespace prelude) to fetch collected logs from different containers.

The remaining log files (like scripting.log) are available under /data/vco/usr/lib/vco/app-server/logs/

Hi.

Thanks, but I am pretty sure that is very old..

As I mentioned, I looked at the docs, but they do not appear to be accurate.

Here is the link to the version 8 docs which shows the path locations

https://docs.vmware.com/en/vRealize-Orchestrator/8.0/com.vmware.vrealize.orchestrator-install-config...

Can anyone running version 8.01 of orchestrator confirm the locations?

I've found additional vRO server and control center logs here:

/var/log/pods/prelude_vco-app-*/
