How to convert array/vc:datastore

Is there any way I can convert an array/vc:datastore to vc:datastore?  I'm trying to automate adding a drive to servers without needing user interaction for a swap drive.  I'm able to query the datastore the VM runs on, but its in an array format.

I tried just injecting custom properties to the VM prior to the actual cloning process.  It just fails with bad datastore path.

     New disk on a new SCSI adapter at request time           

First you can take a look at the logic in this particular use case which includes adding a disk by detecting where the VM is.

You're pretty much awesome.  The package listed on that page I think is what I need! Going to do some more testing now.
