How to apply host patch with VUM Plug-in

Hello

I am using VMware vCenter Orchestrator 4.1 with vCenter 4.1 and vSphere 4.1U2s. I have installed vSphere Update Manager Plug-in on Orchestrator and I can see VUM workflows on Orchestrator clients.

I want to issue vSphere host update from Orchestrator, not from vCenter. I can schedule vSphere host update on vCenter but each tasks are independent. So I must put enogh intervals between each task. I can define a series of tasks in a Orchestrator workflow and it is not neccesary to put intervals between actions and it will take less times than vCenter tasks.

But I cannot find the workflow to install host patches in the workflow library. Which workflow in the library will install host paches ? (Create a patch baseline ?)

Hi,

Take a look at this blog post http://blogs.vmware.com/orchestrator/2011/06/vum-plug-in-for-vco.html. Remediate is the workflow that is installing the patches. It depends on the basline type whether remediate will operate on host or virtual machine.
