Create custom types in vRO

Hello everyone,

I am trying to figure out how to create custom types in vRO? For example,I was looking through AWS vRO plugin that I downloaded and I can see custom types such as AWS:EC2InstanceType. When the workflow runs this pulls in instance types from AWS. I am trying to figure out where this is defined and how it does that so that I can customize it.

thanks

Hi,

these types are provided and implemented within the vRO Plugins. So in your case the AWS:EC2InstanceType comes from the AWS Plugin. You cannot really make any changes, that would be the job of the plugin developer.

Alternatively you can create your own types using the Dynamic Types plugin, but even that provides only limited capabilities  for the objects.

What exactly do you want to achieve?

Regards,

Joerg

‌tthanks Joerg, this explained some things. I guess I need to get a hold of the sdk to create my own custom plugins.

Hi Nuz,

Did you ever end up making your own dynamic types for AWS?

Did you ever figure this out? I am currently limited to the very slim number of instance types provided by the AWS plugin.
