Continuing a workflow after a user interaction timeout

Quick question. I have a workflow where I check the status of something and after a certain date, I begin sending daily e-mail alerts to the end user. After the e-mail is sent it goes back to a waiting timer to check the status the next day.

What I would like to be able to do is to provide myself with a window to change this date (via user interaction request) after the e-mail is sent each day, but to continue the workflow using the current values if I don't respond by the timeout period set on the user interaction request.

Whenever I setup the user interaction timeout value, if the timeout is met, the workflow encounters an exception and ends.

Any help appreciated. Thanks!

So I answered my own question. Apparently I don't read user guide very well and I didn't realize that the exception path on the user interaction object would allow me to continue the workflow using whatever other method I wanted instead of causing the workflow to error out with an exception.
