Cannot connect to 5.1 vCloud instance from plugin

I am trying to use the vCloud Director plugin and am having an issue getting the login to work.

When I give it the credentials, the plugin responds with "API version information failed to be obtained for host https://..."

I can log directly into the vCloud organization using the same credentials.

Notes:

  1. Basic Authentication with Shared Session
  2. VCO version 5.1.0 build 2725
  3. vCloud Director version 1.5.1.622844
  4. VCO was installed using the appliance.
  5. vCloud Director plugin 5.1.538
  6. I am using the appliance OpenLDAP and Postgres database
  7. I can connect to my vSphere instance just fine.

Any help would be appreciated. I am running out of ideas at this point.

Thanks

David

Some more information...

I was able to get past that message by reinstalling orchestrator but I still cannot log in.

I have an organization named 'DHC_TEST' and have imported my LDAP account from Active Directory to it.

My account has the Organization Administrator role.

I can log into the Organization using my AD credentials and a URL of http://192.168.1.10/cloud/org/DHC_TEST.

As per the Orchestrator vCloud Director plugin notes, I am running the Plug-In Configuration/Add a connection work flow.

I enter 192.168.1.10 for the host name and set the Organizaiton to 'DHC_TEST'. I then select either Per User or Shared Session and supply my account and password as required.

The work flow fails with a 'Login failed with username '...' every time.

I have no idea why this is not working so any help would be appreciated.

You state that you are using the  5.x version of vCD plug-in for vCO yet you have a 1.5.x version of  vCD... Have you tried using a 1.5.x version of the vCD Plug-in?? I  personally prefer to keep my plug-in versions matched up with the  external system versions whenever possible to prevent potential  confusion and errors.

Wow! That's embarrassing.

I'll update the Director to 5.1.1 and try again.

Thanks.
