vRealize Operations Remote Collector

Hi!

I am trying to install a Remote Collector on a remote site and need to open some ports, but I have not come across a good guide to what ports that needs to be open and if there is any other requirements to get the node up and running.

At the moment there is only port 443 open between the the to VLANs.

I found this section at https://www.vrelic.com/vcops/ :

Question: What ports do the remote collector communicate on to the master node?

Answer:  The remote collector communicates to the cluster nodes using tcp/10000, tcp/6061, and tcp/443, and the cluster nodes communicate to the remote collector using tcp/443. All the cluster nodes and remote collectors need access to the same ntp server over udp/123. Proper DNS forward and reverse names are required, so you’ll need udp/53 and tcp/53.

Is this true?

Best Regards

Atle

This is the information that VMware support directed me to when I asked a similar question. Submitted the ports to my network team and it seems to be working so far.

How vRealize Operations Manager Uses Network Ports

I did have to request that traffic can initiate both from the Remote Collector and the Master node.

Hope that helps.
