You'll need to get a trial license for v7. They change keys every major version number.

If you have a valid support agreement then you can upgrade the 6.x key in your https://my.vmware.com portal to one for 7.x, free of charge.

Instructions to upgrade keys here: VMware Knowledge Base

Dear all,

I have an another problem with our licenses.

We have 150 vROPS OSI Enterprise licenses.

I upgraded our licenses from 6.7 to 7.0 and upgraded the vROPS environment from 6.7 to 7.0 as well. After the upgrade the vROPS started with 60days Evaluation license which is ok.

But after that, I activated the newly generated license key, and in the Licensing tab, the vROPS says we have Unlimited number of Enterprise licenses.

Do you have any suggestion how can we fix this, to see our 150 OSI licenses in the vROPS Licensing tab too?

That is strange. Sounds like you need to contact GSS or VMware licensing on that one.

vCloud Suite 7 doesn't have an entitlement to vROps 7. You need a vCloud Suite 2018 license.

If we upgrade our vRealize Enterprise Suite 7 license so that we can use vROps 7, will our new license work for our other components like vRA 7.2? Or will we still be able to use our old license for that?

Thanks

Your license will only be valid for the newer version so if you upgrade the license, it will not work on the older version and this may impact your support entitlements.

As Chip says, contact GSS via a Support Request.

They may allow you to mix and match the old and new license. You would need authorisation from them to do this.
