vCenter Server 5 does not start after database migration

Hello everybody.

Got some issue with our vCenter Server 5:

I used the vCenter Server 5 Appliance to set up a new Server for our vSphere environment.

We previously used a vCenter Server 4.1 on Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 with an Oracle Database 11g installed locally.

For Backup reasons we decided to use an external Oracle 10g Database to be used by the vCenter Server, and therefore I exported a Dump from the vCenter Server 4.1 Database and imported it to the new remote Database. When connecting the vCenter Server 5 Appliance via the Webinterface the connection is marked as successfully and the schema is shown as "VirtualCenter 4.1" below. (And therefore I assumed that this will work). Afterwards I started the vCenter and after some time it is displayed as running, however I cannot access it neither by the vSphere Client nor via the WebClient. vmware-vpxd.log says

waiting for vpxd to initialize: ............................................................failed

Any ideas what could be the reason for this? Or any further information you need from me?

Or is it just impossible to use the vCenter 4.1 Databaseschema for vCenter 5?

Thanks in advance!

Some further informations:

Starting the Service with the embedded Database is going well,

also starting the Service on an empty schema on the remote database.

Just after importing the dump from the old Database it is not working.

So I assume it must be an compatibility issue.
