Hello Guys,
Need lil help.
I am stuck at migration of data and from vCOPS 5.8.4 migration to vrops 6.2, I see no import option.
The release note of VROPS 6.2 says http://pubs.vmware.com/Release_Notes/en/vrops/62/vrops-62-release-notes.html
----------------------------
Migrations require vRealize Operations Manager 6.0.x
You cannot migrate vCenter Operations Manager directly to this version of vRealize Operations Manager. Instead, you follow a two-step process to migrate and import vCenter Operations Manager 5.8.x into vRealize Operations Manager 6.0.x, then use the vRealize Operations Manager Software Update option to upgrade vRealize Operations Manager 6.0.x to this version.
---------------------------
But I cannot find a procedure, does it mean that i will have to remove newly install vrops 6.2 and install 6.0 and after migration upgrade to 6.2?
Any reference to powercli for 6.2 would be appreciated too.
Thanks
Kapil
Hi,
You will need to create a new vROPs using 6.0 version. Select migrate data. Once you compelete the migration, you will download upgrade package to 6.2 and apply on appliance 6.0.
Also check http://blogs.vmware.com/management/2015/04/migrating-vrealize-operations-6-david-davis-post-22.html
And check page 78 - Deciding to Migrate or Newly Configure vRealize Operations Manager
