I've been running thte 5.0 trial for a few days. Downloaded and went to install the 5.6 upgrade .pak file. The file uploaded, I was logged out, and when I logged back in, I'm stuck at the data upgrade. I suspect this should be done by now. It's been 5 hours, and I only have 5 days of data for 1 vCenter and 300 machines.
Notice that it says I'm at version 5.6
If I am logged into the end user UI, I says version "Version 5.0.3"
What should I do?
Can you please provide the diag-bundle ?
How to give diag-bindle ?
1. 1. Login to UI VM as admin
2. 2. Run the command – “vcops-admin diag-bundle”
OR
3. Go to the ‘Status’ tab in the Admin UI and create a dig bundle using the option provided.
per the logs, it seems like upgrade stopped after it upgraded the admin_ui, which is definitely not the expected behavior.
Since you've only had the 5.0 instance for a week or so, I'd recommend to scrap it and do a fresh install of 5.6
We'll be looking more into the logs to uncover the root-cause of that issue.
The upgrade failed because of the DLFError 3.
It's looking for files like 'license-vco-56*' in this directory: /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/user/conf/web on the UI-VM. Can you please check that and let me know if such files exists in that directory. There should be 12 such files.
STVKR - it did not failed because of that, this is "postfactum" problem.
I looked at the logs, but they are inconclusive as to why the update failed. At this point, I'd like you to try the update once again.
Try these steps:
I will be monitoring this thread for an update from your side regarding how the upgrade proceeded
AaronAnderson,
Have you got a chance to retry the upgrade? Is this still a problem for you?
