using vROps for asset inventory management

I am trying to find a solution using vROps for sort of an asset inventory management & wondering if it is possible.  I would like to run some sort of weekly query/script that allows me to to input a date range and see if new VM's have been created or old ones removed.  The VM's will have Endpoint agents.  Anybody know of a solution that fits this need?

Its for an old version of vROPs but this might help...
