network issues with Hyper-V guests

Hello,

I came to work at a job that had a Hyper-V setup. It has some issues and I have convinced them to move to VMware.

I setup a ESXi host and built a couple of machines. Then I downloaded a demo of vCenter and set it up to begin preparing pulling machines out of the Hyper-V environment.

This is all on the same local C-class LAN. I have vCenter installed on the same Windows Server 2008R2 server that has the SCVMM on it for Hyper-V.

I have the firewall turned off on the vCenter server. I can ping and get responses from any physical device on the network but when I try to communicate from vCenter Server to any of the Hyper-V guest machines I get no response. I cannot even ping from vCenter to Hyper-V guest.

I also cannot connect to Converter server with the unless I am on the desktop of the vCenter server. I cannot find a network reason for the communication issues. I have tried stopping the VMM services. I have rebooted my server.

It's like Hyper-V knows it is being replaced and is trying to stop me....

Thanks for any help.
