This is in 7.0 but guess it is the same in 6.7

When you create your symptom and select the metric to alert on hit the drop down

Thanks sxnxr  ...i have configured symptom definition for virtual machines and created alert definition using that symptom definition.but alerts are not triggered .Kindly help me to configure the alerts using dynamic threshold.
