collection credentials rights

Hi,

I’m trying to find the exact access right needed when using collection credentials against a vCenter.

It is clear that the registration user must be a member of the administrator, but what about the collection user.

I didn’t find any clear info about the rights in the deployment guide. Is Read enough?

I tried with read but it looks like I’m stuck and no info are gathered.

Any idea?

Hi Eric,

You might be interested with the following KB -> http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1036195

it drives you through the way to select only a subset of objects (DataCenter, Cluster, Hosts) to monitor. it mentions the fact that the collection user need read-only to the desired objects.
