What type of Applications can monitor via APM in vROPS8.2

As I know , new feature APM integration has been added to vROPS 8.2 which is very great now want to know for example I run tomcat or jboss or weblogic on one of my VMS .

Can vROPS monitor it and show all details such as cpu / memory , ... usage that is using by weblogic or .... ?

No you still need the Application Remote Collector (ARC), please see:

Deploy vRealize Application Remote Collector

The quick answer to your question is none. APM integrates other monitoring tools data into into vrops. It does not monitor the applications directly. As an example datadog data can be pulled in.

from the VMware blog This is a vRealize Operations Cloud exclusive and in this latest release, we can pull application data from four popular APM tools. AppDynamics, New Relic, Datadog, and Dynatrace.

As you can see this is only the vrops cloud option. you still do the on prem vrops as before.

To answer you question

"Can vROPS monitor it and show all details such as cpu / memory , ... usage that is using by weblogic or"

This answer is yes if the below is correct

  1. You are running the SaaS vrops cloud
  2. you have one of the 4  APM tools above
  3. that APM tool monitors what you ask

Thanks is that your means we use APM just for premis environment and while we have one datacenter APM is not useful ?

Do you have vrops installed in your datacenter or is it the SaaS version hosted in vmware?

If it is deployed in your Datacenter you cant use APM at all, it is not part of the product. It may get added later but who knows

If you use their SaaS version (vrops cloud) then you can use APM as long as you have one of the 3rd party monitoring tools deployed.

Does not matter how many datacenters you have
