What-if in vROPS v6.7

Hello,

I know that this has been discussed many times on here, but going through the posts I'm still not sure if what I need to do with vROPS is possible. We will be on boarding on a new project that needs a good amount of vCPUs and RAM, I need to know how many hosts we need to add to our infrastructure so I intend to use the vROPS What-if tool. Is there a way to configure the What-if tool to use a 4:1 oversubscription to calculate how many hosts we need to add? Also, is there a way in v6.7 to somehow insert this 4:1 ratio in the policies?

Thank you!

There is a What-If scenario feature in vROPs 6.7 and 7.0. But it's very simple and I'm not sure if it's enough for your needs:

Example: Run a What-If Scenario

You can configure a workload (vm count, vCPUs, memory and disk for each virtual machine and the utilization) and it will say if it fits in your existing environment or how many ressources are missing for this workload. Based on this information you have a first idea of how big the additional hardware purchase has to be.

Thanks sk84, I am aware that there's this tool, but do you (or anyone) know if I can somehow enable an overcommit to it?
