I have a remote collector that is behind a firewall that collects from 1 vcsa. This environment didn't start off behind the firewall but due to security it is now. Can someone tell me or point me to a doc that states what ports need opened up between the RC and the main cluster. Also the VCSA has the EPO agent installed and i have the same question (agent points to the main cluster not the RC. I am thinking of change it if there are loads of ports)
Hi,
If I am understanding your question, you need to know what ports that needs to be opened on your firewall in order to get your End Point Agent to communicate with vROPs?
I had this issue with some VMs in our DMZ which could not talk back to vROPs.
The port that would need to be opened would be 7080 (TCP). Also send the IP address of the vROps node where the End point Adapter is installed (in my case it was the Master Node).
Let me know if this helps.
It answers half my question thanks. I also need to know the firewall ports that the remote collectors use to communicate with the vrops cluster.
I found this article that might be helpful to you, look under Firewall Rule Simplification - http://virtsanity.com/2015/05/vrealize-operations-manager-6-remote-collector-information/

Agreed for your replied but was faced issue with NSX manager today.
So for NSX Manager Adapter configuration and test connection got successful .
Port No. 443 should open in between vROPs = NSX Manager.
