Using vSOM as an Metric Endpoint from vRA

I am trying to configure vRA 6.2.3 to use vSOM 5.8.3 as an endpoint.  The documentation says to use the vSOM url like this:   https://vcops.my-env.com/suite-api/ however, when I update the url to reflect my information I get access denied.  I have tried several different ways to access this data with no success.  Does anyone have any suggestions on what to use?

5.8.x relies upon vCenter credentials, so make sure whatever account you are using to make the connection has administrator rights in vCOps.

The account is a full admin within vCOPS.
