Triggered email alerts after bringing vROps 8.1 cluster back online

I took our 8.1 vROps cluster offline and brought it back up shortly after. I was flooded with new email alerts for connectivity loss to storage, NICs down, HBAs down and many more from all of our different vCenters.

The trigger times were shortly after the cluster was brought online and while some of them are active, there are a lot which definitely aren't. Some may have triggered in the past but these definitely aren't active any more and there are a lot I've never seen before.

Is receiving a load of email alerts normal behavior after bringing a cluster back online?

Yeah that sometimes happens... I always change the outbound SMTP server before bringing the cluster down.

This.

Tons of alerts may trigger on a cluster restart depending on their conditions, and then auto resolve within X cycles.

We always disable all our outbound connectors as to not be flooded with emails/incidents etc.  This was especially problematic for us with the old EP Ops agents.. they would auto-resolve after 15-30mins.
