Symptoms on hosts stay active

We are currently using vRealize Operations Manager 8.0 and we have the problem in our environment that many symptoms on every host stay active although the problems are fixed. I assumed that the symptoms will change to inactive automatically but they won't. The symptoms I'm talking about have mainly the Event Type Notification.

Is there a way to change those symptoms manually? Or can someone explain why the symptoms don't change their states automatically?

Thanks in advance!

Regards,

Johannes

It's the same for me.
For example:
We have done updates on our fibre channel infrastructure.
So the half of our LUN paths went down.
vRealize recognized it as "A path to storage device went down" symptom.
After the updates all paths come up.
But the symptom in vRealize stays active. And we cannot clear the symptom.

Is there anybody who can explain this behavior?

Regards
Timm

These are fault based alerts. These need to be cleared manually.

See VMware Knowledge Base for more details.

Their are just symptoms no alerts in vRealize and we can't see any alerts on source side which we could clear.

Symptoms are part of an alert.  For example alert definition "Path redundancy to storage device degraded" contains symptom (type message event) "A path to storage device went down".
