Stress Calculations & Time

Hello,

I have question about stress calculations

Elastic Sky Labs: vRealize Operations - Stress, Capacity Remaining, and Time Remaining

When you do 24/7 analysis I have 720 (24*30) Stress zones, where a percentage is calculated based on when resource usage went above 70%

10% of stress would mean that you went above 70% during 72 hours.

Most customers don't care what happens during the night, so stress calculation should be based on production hours.

I have create some custom groups on which I placed a new policy.

In that policy I have change time range to Monday - Friday 7 AM to 7PM for virtual machines & resource pools. (production hours)

Which gives you only 240 hours or stress zones.

Now if correlate the 72 hours to the 240 stress zones, this would mean that during production hours you would have stress 30% of the time.

vRops does a new calculation after you apply the policy, how-ever what the policy is (24/7 or 12/5), the amount of % stress remains the same in the analysis tab.

You said you had a question but appear to be making statements. What was the question?

Sorry Smiley Happy

Why does the time settings in the policy has no impact on the stress level.

it seems logic to me that stress % would increase if you have less stress zones
