Restarting vCenter services

Hi all,

I need to restart vCenter services because I have increased vCenter timeout settings. I have a doubt about restarting process. If I restart vCenter services could my virtual machines turn off with the process? My vCenter is a virtual machine itself.

Thanks.

Regards.

Your VM's should be fine.  Anyone who has an active login to a vSphere client will be kicked out.

This is definitely a safe thing to do.  Remember, your VMs do not run in vCenter, they run on your ESX or ESXi hosts.  At worst the connection to those hosts will fail and reestablish.  The VMs will not be aware of the loss of the vCenter services.
