Hi All,
I this parameter in a view for my clusters. It's not calculating. I have looked the policies, memory|demand has been selected. Has this been deprecated or something?
I also see that metric is displaying no data in vROps 6.6.1. I'm not sure exactly what that's for or why it would be empty.
It looks like issue with dashboard back-end code [jsom], please try to reach support as you are using latest version 6.6.1
one more point, looks you are using default policy, make sure try to change policy for this object to local rather than inherited [do this as a troubleshooting]
Thank you,
Pkmr.
Hi Gaprofitt17
Had a problem similar to yours the other day. Haven't gotten a round to do a blog post about it. The problem I had was with memory|allocation|xxx. All memory allocation metrics was empty going back six month, with the exception of memory|allocation|workload.
Not sure if yours fit the same bill, but take a look. Basicly in vRops 6.3 some changes was made to how many metrics are collected and how. So EVEN if it is enabled in the policy under metrics, it may not be collecting.
The problem is that under analytics, I had removed the check mark for memory allocation as capacity analytics was done based on demand. I Check marked memory allocation and saved the policy and checked in next day. Data was collection again, hurray!
So I'm guessing you have done the opposite of me Give it a shot and report back, will hopefully find some time a do a proper blog post about it!
I dont use demand so i dont have the metric at all but what i have learned is that the cluster level object needs to have the same metric enabled on the host objects as it roles up into the cluster level. The cluster is a capacity container not a capacity generator if you know what i mean.
May not be your problem but may help
