Right now there is no reporting in vCOPS Custom UI. There are just capacity and optimization reports that you get on the UI portal.

There's an option of generating reports using xml.

Go to https://<vcops-ip>/vsphere-ui and go to reports tab. you will see a lot of reports. Once you run them you can download them as PDF or CSV. You could also schedule them and get them delivered to your mail address by configuring SMTP.

Dear Venkat, as you new for VCOPs  you can use RVtool which is free. you can use this tool to connect your vcenter and you can get all of your reports. mostly all of the users usings this.

These are the sample files you will find in xmlviews

AbnormalVMListSample.xml

BadgeSummaryTableSample.xml

CustomViewsAndReports.xml

CustomViewsAndReports.xsd

manager-bean-createView.xml

PerfomanceTrendSample.xml

You can find it under /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/user/conf/xmlviews in the UI VM.

  Browse the Analytics VM  --->   /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/tools/RepositoryAdapter/Conf/Conf.properties file

If your vcops is installed on the Virtual appliance mode then , Mention only the FSDB details...rest of the SQL & Oracle DB is applicable for the Vcops - exe based installation either in Windows /Linux based OS.

#source FSDB

sourcefsdbDriver=com.integrien.fsdbjdbcdriver.FSDBJDBCDriver

sourcefsdbUrl=rmi\://<IP address>\:1199/DBMS

Mention the output path :

#incremental = false means full for maxDays days

As per the settings, FSDB is integrated DB in VCops Applicance...so just need to mention the IP address for the Analytics VM...inoder to collect the Data from the source..

#source FSDB

sourcefsdbDriver=com.integrien.fsdbjdbcdriver.FSDBJDBCDriver

sourcefsdbUrl=rmi\://<IP address>\:1199/DBMS

Mention the output path to define the destination location for the report has to be stored...by default upto six months able to get the data from the vCops DB...

#incremental = false means full for maxDays days

incremental = false

maxDays = 365

retryConnectCount = 5

#milliseconds

delayBetweenRetries = 10000

exportToCsv = true

csvFilePath = C:/csv.csv

csvDelimiter = ,

Thanks Ramraj,

But my question is different. From Custom UI there is no OOB report you can pull, you need to do some experimental things. I want the details of those.

Try here /usr/lib/vmware-vcops/user/conf/analytics/

There is a file called sys_ciq_metrics_collected.xml

The custom-reports are available only in vSphere UI. They will not show up in the Custom UI.
You can contact vmware support and ask for the instructions, they can provide the necessary steps upon request.

The procedure is a bit tricky and error prone, hence not publicly available.
