In an effort to apply the shellshock patch I was trying to get my 5.8.2 vCOps vApp upgraded to 5.8.3 first but the upgrade failed saying I need at least 1096MB on / of the UI VM.
df is showing only 891MB on / but I'm unable to find information on how to either clear space or add space. The admin guide mentions adding a disk to the UI VM and it will be automatically allocated to /data, but I don't think that will help me. /data has 61GB free already (although the admin guide also mentions needing over 100GB on /data prior to running an upgrade, but the error didn't say anything about that so...)
I noticed a ton of tmp.10randomCharacters files in the /tmp directory, but they persist beyond a reboot so I wasn't sure I could just delete them.
Any advice?
Thank you

exactly what I was looking for. my google skills are lacking apparently. thank you for the help
This kb article was what actually fixed my problem. I had to add space to disk 1 and resize the root partition of each VM in the vApp.
