Dynamic Threshold

Hi all,

i have a question about dynamic thresholds. We have a swap lun for each of our esx server. But on that lun ther is no traffic because it is not needed until the host has contention.

But i receive the message of high io workload. But that crazy because there are only 3 io´s.

I post a screenshot from the message.

Is it possible to change the dynamic threshold for those lun´s?

Thanks

Frank

Damn, 3 IO's - I should start thinking about putting in SSD's for your swap ;-). Kidding of course.

However, vRops is expecting the load to be 1 IOPS, so that is why you get the message. I think you can do two things - wait until vRops learned that it is perfectly fine to have between 0 and 3 IOPS all the time. Or you can put these local datastores in a separate folder in your vSphere inventory and put a different policy on it. I think the first option is best, allow vRops to learn a little bit more about your environment.

Oh no, another Virtualisation signature...
