Controlling Metrics from SMARTS Adapter

We're at version 5.7 and trying to figure out how we can turn on/off metrics for specific resources coming from SMARTS.  It appears right now it is all or nothing.  We can set for auto-discovery and it all comes in, but we can't handle that amount of data for too long because we'll run out of space.  In version 1.x we were able discover the device automatically and then turn on or off the collection of metrics.  Anyone have any ideas? I can't find anything in the guides.

Have you considered modifying the applied attribute package for the SMARTS resources to include a subset of "ALL"? This wouldn't decrease the collection load on the adapter, but it would filter what ends up getting to the Analytics/DB and save you the Analytics load and Disk IO/GB hit from "ALL".

Mark,

I guess your plan is what we're going to go with.  I can choose the resource by type, so that will have to work.
