Collection interval on VM Level has no Effect

Hello,

I tried to set a smaller Collection interval on VM Level that at Adapter Instance (vCenter).

But the Metrics Diagram is still in 5min cycle (default).

Has anyone also tried that?

Kind Regards,

Markus

Have done it on VM/OS/Application and it works fine. Maybe you could provide a screen shot of where you change it ?

In my environment that does not work or I check that wrong...

Which Version do you use?

Mine:

vROPs: 6.5.0.5097674

vCenter: 6.0 U2

Are you able to see the shorter Collection interval in "All Metrics" (more Data Points)?

Best Regards,

Markus

Last time i did it, was at a customer environment, which i dont have access to atm. (vRops 6.5 and vSphere 6.0.X)

I just tried to change it on the Active Directory mgmt and vSphere on a single VM and I seem to have the same problem with the vSphere mgmt pack.

vRops: 6.6.0.5707161

vCenter: 6.0.0

Hello,

today I got an answer to my Support Request:

The current 5 minute interval for the vSphere adapter is the shortest possible interval.  It is not possible to change the interval for the vSphere adapter instance itself.  The reason for this is vCenter itself could become unstable if vROps were to collect data at a more frequent rate.

Best Regards,

Markus
