The OVA is the OVF folder contents all zipped into a single file.

An OVF is a collection of items in a single folder. Most commonly

this is a description file (.ovf) a manifest file (.mf), and virtual

machine state files (*.vhd or *.vmdk)

---

So if you have the OVA file, that VMDK is inside it. Upon deployment, it is being unzipped in a temporary folder and then contents are installed.

---

few things to check:

- check that you've got the OVA file fully downloaded, and not the OVF.

- you should be deploying from virtual_center, not from host (e.g. your VI_client is connected to the VC)

- you must have permissions

- there has to be some free space (locally and on the VC) so that OVA can be expanded

Can you confirm you downloaded the OVA rather than the OVF. The OVA contains everything required. If this doesn't work, verify the checksum to ensure the downloaded OVA is not corrupted.

Did you already verify the checksum for the ova file?
