I guess this question would pertain to backing up any virtual server running MS SQL.
I am preparing to setup a new, virtual, vCenter server for a three host VM cluster. I have decided to use the MS SQL Express DB that comes with vCenter. My question is about backups. We use Commvault for our enterprise backups. At this time, we utilize VMware VCB, but we will go to Commvault VDDK.
How does VCB or this new VDDK handle that backup of a VM running SQL? Do I need to get a special agent or will the usual backup (VCB) do what needs to be done to get a good backup of a virtual SQL server?
