Alerts for VMs in a specific folder goes to a separate group.

I need to setup alerts via email for monitoring VMs that are in a specific VM Folder in vCenter.  Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to do this?  I am not having any luck, the alerts seems to be all or nothing.

When creating the notifications.  In step2, select your criteria as object.  Find your folder name and select children.  That should direct any alert you choose to notify for any VM in that folder
