Addition of Windows RC to a LINUX Appliance cluster

Hey fellow vROp-ers,

I'm running a vROps 6.1 cluster (1 master, 5 data, 3 RCs) that is currently 100% SuSe Linux from the standard appliance deployment software.

I'm running into a need that requires a Windows based Remote Collector.

When I attempt to deploy the windows installer software I get an error that says "Previous installation attempt failed with the following errors:   Node <RC name> platform, NON_VA_WINDOWS, is incompatible with these PAKs on admin node <Master node name>: vRealizeOperationManagerEnterprise-6103038037. The admin node platform is VA_LINUX."

So, I get that my cluster is the Virtual Appliance Linux deployment.  What method do I need to follow to add an RC that is Windows based?  Is it possible?

Thank you,

Kevin M. Jacobsen

This KB seems to point to you issue, in case you haven't seen this:  VMware KB: Join a Windows remote collector to a vApp cluster

Thanks.  I'll attempt this as a solution and let you know if it fixes the issue.  Thank you so much.
