Log Insight 8.x Archiving missing

Hi guys,

I received Log Insight Admin Alert: Archive Failure mail from my cluster. It says:

"Action is required. Log Insight failed to connect to the archive storage: nfs://xxx.xxx.xxx.xx/data. Data might not be able to archive. This could indicate that the archiving destination is unavailable or having performance issues. If this problem is not resolved, the disk on your Log Insight installation will fill up and stop accepting data. Other unexpected issues may also occur. Please check the status of the archive destination."

However, my Log Insight cluster and appliances are missing the "Archiving" button. Did someone experience the same problem?

Through Rest API I see following:

<log-partitioning>
<partition name="" enabled="true">
<filter />
<retention value="0" />
<archive enabled="true" value="nfs://myNfsServer/data" />
</partition>
</log-partitioning>

and in /storage/core/loginsight/config/loginsight-config.xml#71 the same.

Why is Archiving button missing?

Regards

Did you tried clearing the cache or a different browser?
And which Log Insight edition are you using?

Hi, @RickVerstegen ,

yeah, I did it all... tried 3 different browsers, same behavior everywhere. The only option I found is the following:

- If I choose Log Management -> Index Partitions -> Edit Partition

there is an option to check my NFS path or change it to some other NFS share, and also to test the connection. As you can see in the pic above, the test was also successful. However, I still receive Alert emails and still no archiving button there.

Forgot to mention,  I've checked my NFS server and exports are fine (all nodes are there) and the data was also written.

That is the only option to configure archiving. It is configurable on a data partition.
When creating, modifying, and deleting data partitions it requires you to restart vRealize Log Insight on all the cluster nodes
