vRA 8.2: How to set starting number for VM name sequences

In vRA 8, you can set the naming pattern for the VM in the Project->Provision section (say vracloud#####).  We are migrating from 7.6 and will be using the same pattern.  How do we set the starting number so that we do not start at vracloud00001 but at vracloud22001?

Thanks,

Carl L.

Maybe you can try vracloud22${###}. In this case you will have from 22000-22999, but the order is random.

Yes but that restricts me to a mere 1000 machines before I have to update it.  Maybe there is something in the postgres DB I can update.

We have some pretty particular naming variations in our environment, and will also need to start at a higher number when moving from 7 to 8.

For us - we've been using vRO callout to generate the naming scheme based in form inputs, and the numbers are tracked within vRO config variables.  May be too much for your use-case, but it's viable and works.

Edit as I can’t delete. Will wind up doing the same as others with a custom sequence that has to be maintained outside of vRA.
