vRA 8.0 Unable to login to fresh install

Jump to solution

Has anyone run into this?

I did the "easy install" and can't authenticate using the UID/PWD set during the easy install. Blew away that environment with LCM and reinstalled in a new environment, same problem. Blew that one way and tried with another set of UID/PWD set during the setup in LCM.

Did you try with the Default Configuration Admin as specified during install?

cant authenticate where - into LCM, or vIDM?

vRA login should be done via the AD users synced in vIDM

As xian_ said above, double-check what you put in for the Default Configuration Admin field during step 10.

I ran into this same issue during my install a couple weeks ago. I put in something that wasn't configurationadmin, like 'labadmin.' After years of configurationadmin being burned into my skull for new installs, it threw me for a loop that something I defined in the wizard was the account to use. Password should be whatever you configured on step 8.

I did the initial install with the easy installer, but now am using the LCM to try and get this working.

I created creds for UID: configurationadmin and a password, but still fail to log in with that. I guess I'll just have to delete it all and start over from scratch...

So I blew away everything and did the easy installer again, making sure to use configurationadmin as the user and it worked. Just wish there was a solution with installing with LCM...
