vCAC Register problem on Application Director 6.0

I tried to register vcac 6.0 on Application Director 6.0. I got this error.

register-vcac-server --componentRegistryUrl https://172.28.x.x --ssoAdministratorUsername administrator@vsphere.local --ssoAdministratorPassword xxxxxx --tenant vsphere.local

Registering vCAC server, this will take few moments..

[ERROR] Invalid SSO Admin credentials.

SSO admin password is correct.  Could you help me this issue

Hey tolgaanit,

i had the same problem. My Workaround was to register the vCAC directly from the vCloud Application Director CLI -> Login over the VMRC

The commands are the same and the darwin-cli.jar you can find there -> home/darwin/tools

I hope it works for you too.

Two things here.

1> make sure you are using the Darwin CLI that was downloaded from the App director to which you are registering. I faced this problem when i used a old jar file.

2> Use the FQDN for vCAC URl instead of IP. It will mostly solve the issue.

Is everyone who is having problems attempting to register against the vsphere.local tenant?

I'm not having that problem, but I'm also registering to another tenant.

I've tried both the default tenant and another, same issue. Funny enough, I only started having this issue after I removed a previous install of AppD and recreated. Which is the reason I am rebuilding VCAC. Could it be cert issue?

I don't have any great ideas. Does catalina.out provide any better info?

Alright, my environment has been completely rebuilt and still getting same error. Should we be connecting to the default tenant or the tenant we have created? And what should the "register-vcac-server" command look like syntax wise?

So my issue was that whoever (me) installed the AppD appliance failed to change the hostname and add local DNS. Once I corrected that I had no issues connecting to vCAC. However I still cant add that instance as cloud provider but perhaps that is another thread. Thanks for all the help.

I had same issue. There was time differences between vAPP director Appliance and vCAC Appliance. Once I fixed the time on vAPP director Appliance, I was able to register the vCAC.

I suggest you to disable timesync in vmwaretools on the appliance and point to ntp server. Below command is to disable timesync in appliance

vmware-toolbox-cmd timesync disable

Thanks,

Kalyan

Hey guys, can someone please help? I'm having a same problem registering vCAC 6.1 to AppD 6.0.1. When I register with the default tenant, I get "[ERROR] null" but when I use a new tenant I get a different error message "[ERROR] Invalid SSO Admin credentials".  I've double triple check everything mentioned above, still no dice.  Please help!

Thanks,

Tony
