uplink port on Reservation page

We can set the uplink port on Reservation page of vRA.

1. Is there any merit by this?

2. I think the virtual machine is linked to port group not the uplink port, correct?

The reservations will display any/all portgroups that the user defined in the endpoint credentials can see.

You only want VMs provisioning to portgroups, I'd be avoiding the uplinks.

There is no point selecting the uplinks and therefore we have to avoid the uplinks manually, I understand.
