reuse machine names VRA7

hi,

we have a machine blueprint that uses a machine prefix with a dedicated ip subnet.

creating the machine works fine and so does the clean up once the machine is destroyed.

When i then build a new machine it can re-use the ip address of a machine that was destroyed earlier but the machine prefix is not used.  Is it possible to use machine prefixes that were destryed earlier or by design will it always just keep using the next one along?

thanks

‌Hi phillbl - the way machine provisioning works is it will pick the next prefix in sequence, e.g. last machine was VM01 the next one will be VM02. If VM02 is deleted, the next machine will still use VM03 even though VM02 is available. However, once the end of the sequence has been reached (e.g. VM99) it will go back to the beginning and available names (e.g. VM02) will then be used etc. etc.

So the machine names for destroyed VMs will get reused - just not immediately.
