What happens to the Machine record in the vRealize Automation/IaaS database following a destroy action?

What happens to the Machine record in the vRealize Automation/IaaS database following a destroy action?  Is the machine record retained or do all records pertaining to the machine get deleted?  Since the vRA database is not a CMDB system I'm thinking the only way to insure a machine lifecycle record is maintained following a destroy action is to leverage an external CMDB system.  Can someone please confirm?

Thanks!

Yep what ever said in the other thread is correct the records are deleted only from vRA side but not from CMDB. What ever answer provided is from CMDB point of view. So the record will still remain from CMDB.

Thanks

Yes all the information related to the VM will be deleted. Except the historical data like Events > Audit logs etc.

Hi kumarankpl,

I got a different reply to the same question on another thread.  Did things possible change with the latest 6.2 version of vRA?  Please see the other posting:

Re: vRealize Automation machine life cycle assest record management

thanks!
