Currently in vRA 7.6 we are using VirtualMachine.Software%.ScriptPath for a handful of things (account creation with custom passwords, group membership stuff, deployment time stamp, etc). Basically Windows VMs had 1 very short script, and Linux machines had 2 pretty short ones.

The above states that ScriptPath is not supported by the Migration Assistant. Does this mean that it is also just not supported in 8.x altogether?
I think the implication is 'Install Salt', which seems like huge overkill for this purpose. Are there simple alternatives for running post-deployment scripts that are deployed locally on the VMs, or is this potentially a large hidden 'growing pain' migrating from 7.6 to 8.3?
