[VRA 8.X] Reserve IP in vRA IPAM internal ranges for external use

Hi everyone,

I'm currently working on a vRA migration from 7.X to 8.X and one XaaS workflow on 7.X allowed to reserve some IP from vRA IPAM to block them from being taken for vRA deployment.

I'm looking for such a functionality in vRA 8.X to no avail... Seems the API does not allow such a thing.

Does someone managed to do this or external IPAM is the only way to achieve this ?

Thanks for any help you can provide

No Currently it is not possible, Even with custom workflow we create logic in external IPAM to reserve  , but we can not mark that IP from list of IP range in vra not to pick up .

I'm facing the same problem. My workaround is to create the IPAM in vRA8 and prevent anyone to deploy new machines until all vRA7 VMs are migrated.

Thank you for your answer. We decided to  use phpIpam to remedy this problem.

vRO package and vRA integration exists for this FOSS solution so it seems to be a good solution 🙂
